About Soony

Kimchi by Soony is more than food—it’s a family legacy, lovingly preserved and shared. Our kimchi is made from an authentic recipe passed down from mother to daughter, rooted in tradition, care, and an unwavering respect for Korean culinary heritage.

Our story begins with Cha Soon, born in Seoul, Korea in 1945. Growing up in post-war Korea, Cha Soon learned to make kimchi the traditional way—by hand, by taste, and by heart. Her recipe was shaped by seasons, local markets, and the belief that great kimchi comes from patience, balance, and the finest ingredients. This was not just cooking; it was a way of life.

Her daughter, Soony, was born in Busan, South Korea in 1968. Raised with the aromas of fermenting napa cabbage, garlic, and red pepper flakes filling the home, Soony inherited her mother’s passion for authentic kimchi. Over the years, she carefully preserved Cha Soon’s original recipe, refusing shortcuts and honoring every step that makes traditional kimchi so special.

Today, Kimchi by Soony proudly brings that same time-honored recipe to your table. We use only the finest ingredients and traditional methods to ensure every bite delivers the bold, vibrant flavors of true Korean kimchi. From our family to yours, this is kimchi made with history, love, and deep respect for authenticity.
